project41 Innovations is currently working on an open-source web based CRM application for non-profit organizations. At this point there is no definitive date for a working prototype, but as soon as it can be ready, a demo will be linked.There are a ton of these apps out already, both proprietary and open-source, however none seem to have a user-friendly interface or provide easy customized reporting or other features that most people would assume to be standard. Some of the apps do provide all of the functionality that one would expect, however their layout and help content are so far from intuitive that it becomes frustrating to attempt anything new. These software developers do this mainly because they can then sell the product at a cheaper price in order to gain a quick customer base, and then up-sell expensive support packages which are highly necessary the majority of the time due to the complexity of the app.
project41 however, is going to take a different route. We’re going to take our time developing this app to ensure that it is completely polished inside and out before even attempt to pass on to a client. The interface is going to be extremely user-friendly and intuitive that handling even the most difficult task will be a breeze. The overall goal is to fully develop an application that not only exceeds the expectations of our perspective clients, but also will be seen as the model for any future CRM projects.
