Light Touch Duo is a local band that came to us needing a presence on the web. Most of the bands they compete with for gigs already had websites of their own so Light Touch, who are a great band, was beginning to fall behind in the pack.We set up a great site for them using GetSimple, an XML-based content management system which is specifically built to handle small sites such as this where easily updating content is a high priority, but other features offered by the more well-known content managers would really just confuse them and make the entire process more frustrating. The interface for the admin section is so intuitive that any one could easily handle managing a site that utilizes GetSimple and the template setup was a breeze as well. I highly recommend it to anyone who just wants a basic content managed site that looks great, but doesn’t have all the extra bells and whistles you’ll never use.
On top of the great design, which by the way validated to w3c XHTML 1.0 strict and was completely 508 compliant, we also set their entire site up with some great initial content which was written by Ashley Salzman after scouring through news clippings and old concert programs to collect the proper background info.
End Result: Client Loved It! (win), Our job was easy thanks to GetSimple (win), and Light Touch Duo’s gigs have grown substantially since the launch (win)
